The images below are all "vanilla in nature and may be boring to many who visit this site, but they ARE a part of my history and I think need to be shown.  I hope you'll enjoy them.

- Galloping Around Glasgow -

- A Day Trip "Doon The Water" on the Paddles Ship Waverley -

I'd heard of the PS WAVERLEY many years ago and so to have my wife discover that she was still in operation, and using a steam, reciprocating engine, well, I just HAD to take a trip.  What a great joy it was to see the ship's engine actually functioning (go to the following URL and turn up your sound in a full screen mode, to get some idea - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHPbglWPkuc ).

- All the "clockworks", down below - IMPRESSIVE! -

Although the day started for us at the dock with a few on and off rain squalls, as we progressed "doon the watter" the weather cleared off and we had a fantastic day.  Quite unusual for Scotland :-)!

- Getting the Ferry to Belfast -

The Drive from Motherwell to the Ferry terminal took an hour longer than the ferry ride itself.

Belfast is a fascinating city that just drips history out its pores.  Unfortunately, there still remains signs of "The Troubles" and it's a sad thing to see.

The TITANIC MUSEUM is a very striking structure and because RMS TITANIC was built there by HARLAND & WOLFF, I wanted to see the museum as soon as I could.

- And off to Dublin -

DUBLIN is a lovely city and full of all things Irish ... a part of my distant heritage.  We visited the zoo, but not the Guinness Brewery, unfortunately and while there got to meet a long time friend from Fet Life.

I knew, when we locked eyes, that the beast was looking upon me as a prospective, although somewhat skinny , lunch!

- A Train and Bus tour to The West Country -

The above three pix are where the movie THE QUIET MAN, (starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara) was shot and is a very famous and very pretty locales.

This monument marks the approximate place that ALCOCK & BROWN landed, after crossing the Atlantic, arriving here  on 15 June, 1919.

- Then, it was off to Pembroke Dock, Wales on Irish Ferries -

Our arrival in Pembroke Dock, Wales after a quiet trip on Irish Ferries from Rosslare Harbour, Ireland.
