Although I do this for fun, I'd like to request your assistance with the costs of keeping the site on-line.

Bandwidth use is well over 900 GIGabytes a month and it ain't cheap here in The Great White North. Anything you can spare will help to keep the site humming along. As you may have noted the DONATION BUTTON has been replaced, this at the command of the folks who provided the facility. I am prohibited from mentioning them by name. However, electronic donations can still be deposited to keep this web site alive, by using the button below, which, effectively, does the same thing.

In the 'Send Money To' box, just type in my e-mail addy, JC-GREEN@TELUS.NET, and all will work fine. Your support and donations are MOST appreciated!

I will generally do an update at the 10th of the month, the 20th and at the end of the month, with rotating pages from different sections of the site. Please read the introduction for each update and you'll find that I normally remember to hot-link to the appropriate new page.

Previous pages for this section will be placed in the archives for future reference and it's structure will normally be a month by month basis for each year (12 pages), sub-divided into three sections (A, B & C).

Please Note: There is no "INDEX" page per se. Use the month and year pages at he the bottom of the page to review previous updates to this Section and the Rogue's Gallery.

OK! Here I am again :-)! I've had a holiday from doing uploads to the site and while enjoying my time away, gotten to renew many friendships when visiting Scotland, England, Wales, Germany, and Holland. I've had many adventures along the way, as can be seen in the pix below.

Because there are too many pix for even a quick overview of the trip, I've split them in half. The first is below and the second will appear in the August A-Series upload, then eventually there will be a full couple of articles in the JG-L TRAVEL PIX SECTION in the months to come.

Some of you may find the assorted steam locomotive and aviation porn a little boring, but what the Hell :-).

- Scotland, Wales & England -

Scotland

RSS Discovery, the ship Scott sailed in to the Antarctic and of course I had to take a picture at the wheel. Damn it was cold that day!

Left side - a visit to RAF Leuchers thanks to the influence of my host :-). Right side - a typical Scottish fishing village.

We visited the royal yacht Britannia, moored and on display in Edinburgh, having tea while aboard.

Edinburgh Castle, the site of the yearly Tattoo. Right - some fun with Duidic_Goddess at Stirling Castle.

The Bo'ness railway and I got to stand on the footplate and even managed a short ride.

England

Left - a lovely trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Right - The fastest steam locomotive in the world (still - built in 1937) and still in operation.

More steam locomotive porn. They had a total of 6 out of twelve steam engines running that day, all fired with coal.

Birmingham canals, not Amsterdam.

Left - a tourista ride around the canals. Right a WW-II Grand Slam bomb - 22,000 pounder, carried by the Lancaster bomber, in the late stages of the conflict. No American bomber of that era could come come close to carrying that kind of payload.

And then it was on to the York Railway Museum. A fascinating place for steam locomotive freaks.

As well, I've managed to acquire a couple of new toys while flitting about, and THE most impressive one is a Discipline Helmet and its Security over-cage, from TOP-TO-BOTTOM LEATHERS in the UK.

I got to meet the owners and crafts people who are TTBL and they could not have been more pleasant and welcoming. Here's a few images below to show what I've received from them ... a custom-designed unit to fit my fat head and with a few additions I wanted.

While in Wales visiting GeeTwo and his Lady, Maxi, we were introduced to a really simple lawn game called KUBB (for details, see: http://www.kubb.co.uk/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kubb). It was fun and quick to play, and can be enjoyed by the whole family, so upon returning home and having the raw materials to hand, I made my own set :-).
